As a court entertainment, the Imperial Governor has decreed a day of hunting with hawks and falcons. Many courtiers are accompanying the hunting party, whether they have skill at hunting or not. Even some of the Centipede hostages have been permitted out of Kyuden Moshi for this venture, although numerous Lion bushi are present to ensure their safety.
Challenge:
You may automatically join the hunting party if you have any of:
- Social Position.
- Imperial Marriage.
- Any Lion ally
- Ally: Moshi Keiko
Otherwise you may either:
- Impress them with your skill by rolling PER/Hunting TN15, or
- Persuade someone important to invite you along by rolling AWA/Courtier TN15
If you fail this roll, you cannot join this event, but you may join a different event instead.
Focus:
There are several occasions to socialize with the other hunters as the day goes on. You may:
- Ingratiate yourself with the other hunters. AWA/Etiquette (Courtesy) TN15
- Disparage someone else's bird. AWA/Games: Sadane TN15
- Flirt with other courtiers. AWA/Temptation (Seduction) TN15.
- Demonstrate your knowledge of the terrain. INT/Sailing (Navigation) TN15. Gain a free raise if you have Absolute Direction. Automatically succeed if you have Way of the Land: Valley of the Centipede.
Strike:
Ultimately, you still have to hunt with the hawks and falcons. You may roll one of:
- AWA/Animal Handling (Falcons) TN15, or
- PER/Hunting TN15
You gain a FR for each other player who succeeded at a focus attempt different than your own.
If you did not succeed at your focus attempt, you must call a raise for no effect.
Rewards:
If you succeed, your hawk brings down some game and you gain 1xp and +0.1 Glory.
If you succeed with 1 raise, you may additionally gain 1 rank of Hunting or Animal Handling (your choice) and notice something while hunting.
If you succeed with 2 raises, you may additionally gain another +0.2 Glory and Darling of the Court as you demonstrate flawless hawking technique.
