Festival Preparations (Day 3 Afternoon)

Post by Narrator » Fri Oct 12, 2018 2:07 pm

The Bon Festival is in two days, and there are many preparations still to be made! Matsu Shigenobu has been assigned to take charge of these preparations. Perhaps you agree to help him.

Challenge:
Shigenobu needs a lot of help.
Anyone may join unless they have Heart of Vengeance: Lion.

Focus:
You may help the festival preparations by doing any one of:
- Plan religious ceremonies. INT/Spellcraft, INT/Lore: Theology or INT/Lore: Festivals TN15. You may gain 1 FR if you have Ally: Moshi Fuyumi, as she is familiar with the rituals.
- Purchase foodstuffs needed for the festival. Unfortunately, food is in short supply due to the drought. Shigenobu’s limited budget makes this an INT/Commerce TN20. You may spend some of your own money to add a +2 static bonus for each koku you spend (to a max of 3 koku and +6 bonus).
- Make decorations for the festival. AWA/Artisan: Painting, Ikebana, Origami or Calligraphy TN15.
- Prepare food for the festival. INT/Craft: Cooking or Craft: Brewing TN15.

Strike:
You must get the townsfolk organized in order to complete the festival preparations.
You may roll any of: AWA/Perform: Oratory TN15, PER/Battle TN15 or INT/Lore: Festivals TN15 to accomplish this.
Kasuga technique applies to the AWA/Perform: Oratory roll.
You may gain 1 FR for each other player who succeeded at a different focus attempt than the one you attempted.
If you did not succeed at your focus attempt, you must call 1 raise for no effect or automatically fail.
If you have Ally: Akane, you gain another 1 FR since the townsfolk are more willing to help you.
If you have Leadership, you gain another 1 FR.
Remember that you cannot call raises or benefit from free raises on unskilled rolls.

Rewards
If you succeed at the Strike, you effectively organize the festival preparations and gain 1xp and Ally: Matsu Shigenobu (influence 1, devotion 1) as he is grateful for your assistance.
If you succeed with 1 raise, you additionally gain 1 rank of Lore: Festivals (or, if you spent koku purchasing food during the Focus phase, you may choose to take 1 rank of Commerce instead).
If you fail at the Strike, the festival preparations are chaotic and muddled; you still gain 1xp for helping.
