Rumors of Unrest (Day 2 Afternoon)

After some incidents of sabotage and theft, the Lion authorities suspect that rebels are hiding among the townsfolk, plotting against the occupying force. Perhaps you will help them investigate this possibility.
Challenge:
You may automatically join this event if you have any of:
- Lion clan member
- Any Lion ally
- Social Position: Yoriki
- Ronin.
You may not join this event if you are a Hostage or Infamous.
Otherwise you must roll AWA/Sincerity (Honesty) TN15 to convince the Lion officer that you can help with this matter. If you fail this roll, you cannot join this event, but you may join a different event.
Focus:
You have several ways to investigate this problem. You may choose one of:
- Ask among the townsfolk. Unfortunately, they don't particularly want to help you. AWA/Investigation (Interrogation) TN20. You gain 1 FR if you have Ally: Akane.
- Search for clues at the site of the last sabotage. PER/Investigation (Search) TN15.
- Talk with underworld connections. AWA/Lore: Underworld or WIL/Intimidation TN15 and suffer honor loss for using a Low skill. You gain 1 FR if you have Spy Networks.
- Sneak around eavesdropping on people. AGI/Stealth TN15 and suffer honor loss for using a Low Skill.
Kasuga technique applies when talking with townsfolk or underworld connections.
Strike:
You piece together clues to determine a pattern in the various incidents of sabotage and theft.
Roll PER/Investigation TN15.
You gain 1 FR for each other player that succeeded at a different focus than the one you attempted.
If you failed your focus attempt, you must call 1 raise for no effect or automatically fail.
Remember that you cannot call raises or benefit from free raises on unskilled rolls.
On a success you find some clues as to the nature of the saboteurs and earn 1xp.
If you succeed with 1 raise you may additionally gain 1 rank of Investigation.
If you succeed with 2 raises, you additionally make a favorable impression on Ikoma Kado and gain him as a 2 influence, 1 devotion ally (or increase devotion by 1).
If you fail, you earn 1xp, but only hear unsupported rumors about these incidents. There is no additional penalty for failing with raises.
